The U-Bahn Culture
U-bahn (00-bah-n) is an underground railway/subway system that connects to the central heart of Berlin, Germany. Small town Columbia, Missouri (CoMo) doesn't have a subway system. What it does have is this invisible connection between places central to itself (not to mention a brunch joint called Cafe Berlin). The town has an underground life in plain site beneath the student college culture. The town has a beating rhythm full of interesting people, places, music and other art that really brings out the colorful character that is both sophisticated and weird.
Telling a Story
I love taking pictures in the moment. Moments tend to tell the best stories because you can get very personal with it. You don't know what happened before or after but you know what is now in that single frame. Forever frozen in time. It shows you ordinary everyday situations and makes them precious. Like an archaeological find of a single clay pot or stone tool. That is one of the reasons why a picture is worth so many words. These pictures are about the places and people I see on an almost daily basis. They are very beautiful people in very special places that will not last forever. As nothing in this world is ever truly permanent. These pictures are a testament of a time that will inevitably fly by before we know it. Until then, I'll keep taking pictures so we will have a record of a special time and the places we shared them in.
